Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” Vegas residency show keeps going strong in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.

Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

More than just being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be preserved for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Ask Alexa “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.

Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.

In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.

What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas date and time couple of years before deciding to go independent.

He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”

He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.

Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.

Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
